What can SAM do for your organization?
An asset is an item, thing or entity that has potential or actual value to an organization. In any organization, asset managers are challenged with managing extremely valuable assets, which are not fixed or static. In fact, these fixed assets move frequently, both within the organization and outside of it.
Due to improper human intervention, the respective departments will not be able to use the assets. This in turn will result in the over-purchasing of new assets in their place, updating incorrect information on missing assets & increasing cost.
Asset Management has traditionally focused on gathering information such as asset location, asset
configuration, maintenance activities, production throughput, and so on. Asset Management involves balancing costs, opportunities and risks against the desired performance of assets, to achieve the organizational objectives.
RFID-based Asset tracking & Management Software enables effective tracking and recording of all the fixed dispersed assets of an organization, resulting in better accounting practices, maintenance and upkeep of assets.

How SAM works
A hybrid barcoding and RFID system in one easy to use application.
- Mobility at its best.
With a portable RFID reader built into a mobile computer, staff can easily scan one or more asset tags without having to physically see the tags. With traditional barcode labelling, employees would have to point a barcode scanner directly at the tag to get an accurate scan. In some applications, that would require crawling under desks, behind server racks, or climbing ladders to scan hard-to-reach assets. With RFID, the reader can be several feet away and still get an accurate scan. One employee could easily scan several dozen assets in a room in just a few seconds.
- Smart Tags
RFID tags with a larger on-board memory capacity can even store additional information about the asset. For applications in remote areas where connectivity to a back-end application or database might be challenging, the tag itself can store information about maintenance activities or sensor data that can be read and written to by a field technician using a mobile computer.
An RFID asset tracking system can provide multiple advantages over bar-coding. These include: Reading multiple tags at once, without requiring line-of-sight between the tags and scanner. One employee could inventorize an entire room full of equipment in a matter of minutes.
Critical service information can be stored on the assets themselves, enabling more accurate asset life cycle management.
By integrating the solution with a wireless LAN, assets can be identified and located remotely in seconds.
- Less time-consuming
Inventory times will be reduced from days down to hours, up with accuracy rising from 65%-70% to 100%
- Security done the smart way
Asset security can be improved by generating real-time alerts and alarms if assets are moved into unauthorized locations or taken out of a building.
